I have been very very impressed by the work of Q.D. Lestenkof who comes from one of the smallest communities in the world and who lives in Alaska.Another Daughter of the Soil she is happy protecting the environment.
She is also one of my heroes.
DOTS.
She was born in St. George Island Probilof Islands of Alaska.
Although she has a media degree from the University of Alaska she has gone out of the normal way to discover more meaning into life. She has contributed theAleut language "tanadaqadakux" which translates as "done visiting this land" . There is word for death in her people's langua ge. She is Co-director of the ECosystem Conservation Office of her tribal community. Interesting she has innovatively blended science with native Aleut traditions to enhance the well-being of the people and wildlife of the Bering Sea.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
